Serious Air Custom Airbrushing was built on passion, persistence, and paint.

 

Founder George Pearsol II began airbrushing in 1993, teaching himself the craft right here in San Diego, California. What started as a creative spark quickly turned into a movement. George launched his first airbrush business at Kobey’s Swap Meet, later expanding to Spring Valley Swap Meet and a wide range of local venues including Marshall Scotty’s, Frasier’s Frontier, Cajon Speedway, and Barona Speedway. From custom t-shirts to racing helmets, his work became a staple for both local teams and their fans.

 

As his reputation grew, so did the vision. Serious Air Custom Airbrushing was born, becoming a recognizable name across the racing circuit and beyond.

 

George expanded into youth sports, creating custom banners for softball leagues and AYSO soccer teams, before joining Banners USA, the largest airbrushed sports banner company in the country, where he spent three years refining his craft. He later worked with Knott’s Berry Farm through Kaman’s Art Shoppe, mastering high-speed, high-volume airbrushing without sacrificing quality.

 

The journey didn’t stop there.

 

Serious Air took to the road, setting up shop in Las Vegas along the famous Strip, collaborating with Coastal Apparel to design one-of-a-kind school mascot shirts. From Reno to South Lake Tahoe, where the brand became a local favorite at Heavenly Village, to fairs in Washington and shops along the East Coast in Virginia and Myrtle Beach, Serious Air built a coast-to-coast presence. Along the way, George collaborated with fellow artists, including helping develop early airbrush t-shirt stencil techniques, constantly evolving his style and skill.

 

After eight years of traveling and creating across the country, Serious Air returned home to San Diego.

 

Today, you can find us back at Spring Valley Swap Meet, bringing everything we’ve learned full circle. We now focus on creating custom pieces for our community, including parties, corporate events, birthdays, and bar/bat mitzvahs.
